Alterations to existing single storey building allowed for the part demolition paving the way for a superb new building

Description: 7GP Health Centre, Dr Peter Jones and Partners practice with East Riding of Yorkshire PCT

Project situation: Premises accommodate a 7GP practice with PCT Clinical Services, District Nurse, Health Visitors, Dieticians, Sexual Health Advice, Out of Hours, Dental Practice & Pharmacy including the refurbishment of the Community Mental Health Trust building

Project brief: AH negotiated the land purchase to facilitate the construction of the new three storey building. Alterations to the Practice existing single storey building allowed the part demolition paving the way for the new building. The practice were then able to relocate into the spacious new premises from their single storey building which is being demolished to allow the construction of the new access and car park.

Project solution: Three storey modern, compliant, fit for purpose premises offering general medical services with minor ops suite and Dental and Pharmacy facilities.

Points of interest: The new Health Centre is constructed on the site of Archaeological interest being the extreme end of the Medieval town of Beverley and innovative foundation solutions allowed the archaeology to remain largely undisturbed.

"Patients will really notice the difference. The centre is bigger and better and will enable us to provide more services."

Dr Jones, who was based at the old centre for 30 years.

"The new building is superb and much more welcoming for patients, with improved facilities all under one roof."
Nick Borrill, Modern Matron for Beverley and Leven

"All the staff are delighted to be working in such a pleasant, modern, spacious environment. One of the main benefits of the centre is we are now based in the same building as other healthcare professionals we deal with daily, which helps us deliver an improved quality of healthcare to our patients."
Liz Hallet, District Nurse
