Project Situation; Occupied by GP Practice which relocated from Dale end surgery
Project brief; To locate a new larger site for a new Surgery to offer more clinics, with room for further expansion. It offers the local practice population of 2,200 from the surrounding villages an improved healthcare environment on a new site just inside the village of Danby.
Project Solution; Danby surgery is a modern facility that will serve the community for many years to come and has been built to allow changes in configuration and as service solutions to patient needs change. It has been thoughtfully designed to allow for any future expansion.
Points of interest; The sites designated in a national park took lengthy negotiations as it was the first commercial development in many years, incorporating York Stone and reclaimed Welsh slate to meet current planning conditions. In the end the parish council provided a site designated for community use. The building will provide for long term flexibility and viability for primary care services in the area.
Testimonial; Practice Manager Madge McQue said: “We have more facilities and the staff and patients are really enjoying it. We are able to extend the services we can give here – for example for mums and babies.”
