Project brief: The practice had outgrown its existing premises and is operating from a Council owned converted house with limited parking. Ashley House were been appointed to provide a solution to relocate the practice into expanded premises from which they can extend the number of healthcare services. The new location had to be very close to their existing surgery.
Project solution: Two storey ‘upside down’ (due to the site conditions), modern, DDA compliant premises offering flexible accommodation for the practice and the PCT,
and ample parking all within 100m of the existing premises.
Points of interest: The identified site was acquired from Birmingham City Council and the completed facility will play a key element to the overall regeneration strategy of the area. The surrounding land has undergone a large scale redevelopment carried out by Bellway Homes and previously housed of a number of high rise residential tower blocks.
