A new health facility in the centre of Bracknell offering an extended range of health services

Building size:  14,500 m²

A ‘vertical’ model of the health park is an urban solution for integration of services for town centre location’s where there is a restriction of available / affordable land.

Pedestrian flow through a vertical structure is often easier and there are savings to be gained through ergonomic efficiencies by sharing common spaces and incorporating ‘smart design’,

This 1.2 acre site is a key component of the Bracknell town centre regeneration programme and its strategic location close to both rail and bus stations, will localise and improve access to many community services.

Project brief: A wide range of services from GP led general medical to specialist provider services involving 3 hospital trusts.

Project Status: Following appointment Ashley House have led a service planning exercise with the PCT and partners.  Discussions have progressed with providers (including 3 hospital trusts) to meet a scheduled target for a planning application around Christmas.
 
Project solution: A multi-storey (9 floors) health building co-located with extra care and wellness facilities and linking into an adjacent car park, creating multi floor access points. A one stop shop and an exemplar model for 21st century for an integrated delivery of health and social care services.

2 GP practices, diagnostic services, out-patient, urgent –care,
children services &  dental, mental health & extra care
pharmacy & cafe and fitness centre.
 
Points of interest: 
Ashley House provided innovative funding and leasing arrangements to allow the commissioners with flexibility and control over the services delivered from this flagship which links into the Right Care Right Place policy.

By co-locating and integrating extra care with health provides simpler patient pathways, opportunities for costs savings through efficiency measures and a more dynamic and supported work environment for staff.
