New 8 GP Practice with accommodation for a Pharmacy and associated community services
Project situation: GP led scheme, run by their management company, to develop new 8 GP practice premises with accommodation for a Pharmacy and associated community services.
Project brief: Ashley House was appointed to assist in the relocation of the practice out of an existing single storey Health Centre. A key element of the brief was to find a site that was within the practice catchment area.
Project solution: The new surgery will provide modern healthcare services from a ‘one-stop shop’ and offers a vastly improved environment for patients with enhanced and pleasant working conditions for clinicians and staff. There will be a treatment room suite that includes an operating quality treatment room plus two other treatment rooms. The GPs are enthusiastic about the capacity their new premises will provide for keeping the patient list open, offering new services to the wider community and the potential to offer additional services on site which could include dentistry, physiotherapy, chiropody, counselling services and chiropractor, not all of which will be
NHS.
Points of interest: The new facility is being developed on part of a former school site that was bought from South Gloucestershire. Ashley House was instrumental in negotiating an affordable price for the land as the Council were minded to sell of the whole school for a residential led scheme.
