Wiltshire, Melksham, Giffords Primary Care Centre
New Primary Health Centre to provide 17 consulting rooms and associated minor ops and treatment rooms.
Previous Situation
The previous Giffords building housed an eight partner practice in a dilapidated building providing 350m² of space with little, and in some rooms, no natural light. Many consulting rooms were based on the first floor, with a small internal pharmacy based on ground floor level. The building offered no car parking facilities.

Solution
Ashley House was commissioned to build a new Primary Health Centre to provide 17 consulting rooms and associated minor ops and treatment rooms. The new building is 1,100m2 and houses other health care professionals including health visitors, midwives, counsellors, dentists as well as Social Services
AH met with Practice and was selected as preferred development partner.
Site located and bought from the NHS Trust.
Designs developed with the practice and planning consent obtained.
Construction process managed by in-house contracts managers.
Building designed to accommodate planned expansion in 2003.
