Replacing an outdated surgery with a new vision of modern health care

The GP partners and senior staff from the surgery worked closely with Ashley House to ensure that the design of the building enabled efficient and modern working methods, meeting all the needs of the practice and its patients, now and into the future.

The new £3m two-storey surgery is a spacious 1,200 square metres situated adjacent to Danbury Mission and

set within a conservation area. Ashley House and Murphy Philipps Architects designed the building in having consultaed widely with local stakeholdersion with Chelmsford City Council Planning Department, creating synergy between the newly completed Danbury Mission and the new surgery building.

The last few years have been difficult, with a number of set-backs, and we very much appreciate the hard work that everyone has put into this project to make it a reality. We would also like to thank our staff and patients for their support and tolerance during this time, putting up with our current cramped and overcrowded conditions. The new surgery will provide a vastly improved environment for everyone.”

Lindsey Hunt, the Practice’s Business Partner said: “Our new premises have taken ten years to reach fruition and we are grateful for Ashley House’s support in making this happen. We believe this building will offer a superb facility as part of the local health economy.”
